For those of you who don’t know The Community Give is a nationwide day of giving to local nonprofits. We are very fortunate to live in a community with so many active nonprofits that work hard to make lives better. The Community Foundation of the Rappahannock River Region makes it easy for people to give to their favorite nonprofits for 24 hours on one central website. They even coordinate prizes throughout the 24 hours for nonprofits to win based on money earned and most unique donations. Last year we had a great time participating and on the same day held our first “Yumathon” to bring people into the kitchen and learn about the Doctor Yum Project. This week we were delighted to see a story on from “Give Local America” about our participation in the Community Give last year and the way we made the most of a great community event.
This year on the day of the Community Give, we are having our own GIVE to the COMMUNITY. We will reveal our brand new website update during our Second Annual Yumathon event in the Doctor Yum Project Kitchen. For several months have been working hard on this free website tool to help families achieve better nutrition with a state-of-the-art website to make cooking at home simple, affordable and delicious.
Stop by the Yumathon from 9am to 5pm to sample new foods, check out live food demonstrations, learn about our new website and see some of the physican partners who have supported our us as they cook new recipes with the Doctor Yum Project Team! If you can’t make it in, tune into our Facebook page
for live streaming of the event!
We hope that folks will consider a donation to ALL of their favorite nonprofits this year on May 3rd. Here’s a link to the Doctor Yum Community Give Page.
Make sure you check out our new Meal Maker Machine and recipes which is our GIVE back to our community.
